Croswell celebrates 40th anniversary of ‘Rocky Horror’ with two midnight showings

Break out the fishnets and the rubber gloves — but no toast, please. The Croswell Opera House in downtown Adrian will celebrate the 40th anniversary of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” this weekend with two midnight showings of the classic movie. “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” starring Tim Curry and based on the stage musical by Richard O’Brien, was released in 1975 and became a cult sensation. Robinson Planetarium announces events for November

The following events will be playing throughout the month in Robinson Planetarium on the campus of Adrian College. Admission is free for all showings. Earth, Moon & Sun — Friday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. This full-dome show explores the relationship between the Earth, Moon and Sun with the help of Coyote, an amusing character adapted from Native American oral traditions who has many misconceptions about our home planet and its most familiar neighbors. Robinson Planetarium announces October schedule

Robinson Planetarium and Observatory at Adrian College has announced its upcoming show schedule for October. Admission is free for all showings. Star Talk: Autumn Constellations. With the frosty evenings of fall upon us and the celebration of All Hallows Eve near, the winged horse Pegasus and Andromeda are high in the sky and Saturn, the jewel of the heavens, is low on the western horizon.  Later in the evening, brilliant winter constellations begin to rise in the east.  In the early morning hours, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter and Mars are visible low in the eastern sky.  This live talk will discuss the constellations and planets that are visible in October. ConTroll YA young adult literature convention announces 2015 author lineup

The organizers of ConTroll YA, the second annual young adult literature conference at the Adrian District Library, have announced this year’s author lineup. Returning authors Kate Bassett, Courtney Allison Moulton, Bethany Neal and Eric Priuska will be joined by two new guests: Tracy Bilen, the author of “Watch Your Back” and “What She Left Behind,” and Ellen Hopkins, the New York Times-bestselling author of “Crank,” “Glass” and more.
